Are your campaign clothes starting to chafe a bit? Are you getting a bit of an itch under your magic underwear, as you contemplate having to face the full electorate in the general election, having made some, ahem, rather extreme statements to fire up your base during the primaries?
No problem! We have the solution for you!
[Rmoney spokesman] Fehrnstrom was asked on CNN Wednesday whether he was concerned that Romney’s prolonged fight with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum would force him to “tack so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election.”
“Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign,” Fehrnstrom responded. “Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch-A-Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all of over again.”
That’s right, GOPers… you can Scratch-YOUR-Itch with Etch-A-Sketch™!
UPDATE: Robert Reich points out why this will not work for Rmoney: we no longer live in an Etch-A-Sketch™ world, but we do live in a YouTube world, and every voting adult has access to everything Mittens said and did during the primary season. Who will direct them to those videos? Democrats, of course.
