A Heartfelt Plea To WordPress.com

Gentlefolk,

Would you PLEASE, PLEASE STOP FUCKING WITH THE POST EDITOR? It seems as if you are determined to wreak havoc on those of us who switch back and forth between Visual mode and HTML mode.

This morning, for example, you implemented paragraphs as two line breaks, as you have done for ages.

This afternoon, you started using <p>…</p> tags… and you wrapped the whole post into one huge mass with few if any line breaks to guide the eye of the person editing the HTML.

And now you seem to be back to two line breaks.

Just STOP IT ALREADY!

Frustratedly yours,
Steve

MandT, the only thing I can offer is this: Blogger is just as bad if not worse. If you don’t balance a tag pair in HTML mode within 1.7136 seconds, it pops a MODAL error message… i.e., one that has to be sent away with an explicit click. My main reason for leaving Blogger was that the Google “cloud” just plain went out for about two days, and when it came back, one of my posts was completely missing. Data loss is a cardinal sin in cloud computing; it’s enough to make you never trust it again. At least in WordPress you can export to a backup.
