New Yorker And Texan Alike Have Wondered This

I just ran across a cartoon by Shanahan in the September 19, 2011 New Yorker (thanks, BB!) that is enough to make you simultaneously laugh and cry. If you want to look at it, go here, where you can also buy a print of it for $125. Well, maybe you can, but maybe that’s out of your league as surely as it is out of mine. The point is certainly within everyone’s scope, though…

A mother polar bear and a baby polar bear are afloat on a tiny ice floe adrift in a sea of (one presumes) rapidly melting ice. Baby looks up and asks,

Momma? Is Rick Perry Real?

Good question, Junior! Rick is as real… and as much to be regretted… as global warming.
