The post below on Jason Leopold’s review of Hilbert College political science Professor Andrew Kolin’s book “State Power and Democracy: Before and During The Presidency of George W. Bush” led me to look a bit on the web for additional works by Prof. Kolin. But first, the professor himself dropped by in comments on the post below to inform us that the book will be available in paperback sometime in 2012. As a book with a (regrettably) limited audience, it probably still won’t be cheap, but it may be affordable even on the budget of an old geezer like me. Now on to the point of this post… here’s more about and by Andrew Kolin:
- In January 2011, Kolin guest-posted on Juan Cole’s “Informed Comment” site; his subject was “How the US Became a Police State.” Remember, this was written long before the effective beginning of the Occupy movement.
- In May 2011, Kolin was the guest of FDL Book Salon.
- In November 2011, GlobalResearch published a review of Kolin’s book by Prof. John McMurtry (Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Guelph, Canada). It’s long but thorough.
If anyone has other significant reviews of Kolin’s book or articles by Kolin on non-subscription public web sites, please feel free to leave them in the comments. Based on Google results, there are a lot more out there to be found.
