Another “Non-Factual” Statement By A GOPer

This time it’s Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), who, you may recall, in an earlier debate saidthat abortion was ‘well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does.'” Attempting to walk back this outrageous misrepresentation (the actual number is about 3 percent of services, and no federal funding is used for them), one of Kyl’s spokespeople said, according to CNN anchor TJ Holmes:

HOLMES: We did call his office trying to ask what he was talking about there. And I just want to give it you verbatim here. It says, ‘his remark was not intended to be a factual statement, but rather to illustrate that Planned Parenthood, a organization that receives millions of dollars in taxpayer funding, does subsidize abortions.’

“[N]ot intended to be a factual statement” … I believe we have heard that load of Republican bullshit before. Of course it’s OK if you’re a Republican. Any lie is acceptable, nay, laudable in service of a worthy cause. The clear implication that taxpayer funding “does subsidize abortions” … was that also “not intended to be a factual statement”? Because it certainly is completely false.

I wish someone in the media would call what Sen. Kyl does by its right name: LYING. He is a chronic and thoroughly deplorable LIAR, and this is only the latest example.

ADDENDUM: not to be deterred (de turd, maybe), Kyl is now blackmailing Obama’s effort to extend the payroll tax holiday, insisting that he will sign off on it only if Obama extends the Bush tax cuts. What a shit guy!
