Shopping Day?

Go to the board, pick up the chalk, and write a hundred times…

I will not shop on Black Friday.
I will not shop on Black Friday.
I will not shop on Black Friday.
I will not shop on Black Friday.
I will not shop on Black Friday.

Thanks, Enfant… someone else obviously had the same idea I had, but rendered it a bit better. I have to disagree, though, that you can’t carry mine with you as well… on, say, an Android or an iPad.

Ah, now I get it… “edlhm”!

There are several sites around the web on which I sign “SBtheYDD” … obvious except for the final ‘D’, which stood for “Democrat” back when I was a member of that party.

Every year, in the shopping madness after Thanksgiving, somebody is injured. Some years (2008 was one), somebody gets killed in the mad rush to get the best bargains. Every time, I think that public sentiment will turn against such crazy events. Every year, retailers and shoppers together prove me wrong.

I encourage my friends NOT to buy me a Christmas present, and especially NOT to participate in the craziness that is Black Friday.

I believe it was Bryan who pointed out the irony that one may camp out in a tent and sleeping bag overnight, blocking a sidewalk and maybe a street, to buy some item of which the quantity is limited… but one may NOT camp out and block a sidewalk in the name of human rights and civil rights; the police will beat you and arrest you for that. Gawd Blessa Merka!
