Friday Lily-High-On-Monteverdi Blogging

I’ve never happened to glance up exactly as Lily ascended to this location, so I don’t know exactly how she gets that high… but she certainly does. The record cabinet is 4 LPs tall; the added stack of phono disk sets of the operas of Claudio Monteverdi seems not to provide any obstacle at all to Lily.
As you may be able to see, she is considerably slimmer than in her last photo session… and that’s a good thing!

She is probably doing it in a single leap from the floor at her age and size. She is losing fat, not muscle, and she has been carrying a lot of extra weight around, so she will be a formidable leaper.

Bryan, I suspect she comes up by the four-drawer chest barely visible in the right side of the picture. It is piled high with recently laundered clothes to prevent her ascent, but I think she does it anyway. Or she may get to the chest by a nearby window sill, which I would have thought is too narrow for even a much thinner cat to balance on.

I’ve noticed in the past few days that Lily has gained a new burst of energy. Perhaps the combination of much cooler weather and her lighter weight gives her more energy. Her cheeky personality hasn’t changed, though… she does leap straight to the dining table sometimes (she knows she’s not permitted up there), and yesterday she looked at me for a moment, positioned herself right in the center of the long hallway, and sat down, blocking my passage, knowing exactly what she was doing! Watch out for Lily’s sense of humor!

Oh, good, jams. I’m headed to your place now…

Blocking your path? How about carrying a small spray bottle of water…. and air horn and some duct tape? Duct tape fixes everything!

ellroon, people who use a walker or a cane don’t need all the paraphernalia you list! Approaching a sitting cat while using a walker pretty well guarantees the cat will get out of your way!

She has ascended the heights of musical genius!

Monteverdi alone would certainly qualify as “the height[] of musical genius” IMHO!
