Oakland Revisited: General Strike

According to Business Insider, the strike is large and growing larger. And it has already caused at least two banks to shut down, and slowed business at the nation’s fifth largest port. BI is liveblogging parts of the march through Oakland.

I wonder if the response will be violent this time, or if authorities will think twice about repercussions.

UPDATE: yes, there was some violence, by a few dozen “black-clad anarchists” and by some police. It’s not clear that the anarchists were part of Occupy; they may well have been agents provocateur. Here is a slideshow.
