Voter Fraud – The Nonexistent Crime

Rolling Stone’s Ari Berman tells the story of GOP-inspired laws intended to suppress, illegalize or physically prevent likely Democratic voters from exercising their right to vote. It’s ugly. It’s nationally coordinated. It’s in place for 2012. And it’s probably the only thing that could result in either a GOP presidency or substantial GOP gains in Congress. What can you do? Not very damned much. Read the article.

I’ve said this elsewhere, but apparently to Republicans voter fraud means a Democrat gets to vote…

ellroon, a few years ago, a local community leader (or radical Black activist, take your choice), formed a small troop carrying rifles and marched them to a local polling place where it appeared Blacks were improperly being denied the right to vote. There was no confrontation, but he did get on the evening news with his story. At the time, I thought the reaction was a bit extreme, though I understood the motivations.

These days, though, I’m asking a different question: where’s my rifle?

(FTR, for the moment, the motherfucking goddam GOPer bastards are safe from me… I don’t own a firearm of any sort. But if those poll enforcers show up again in 2012, I will not lift a finger to stop them.)
